Writing & Research

Broadly, I currently work at the intersection of artistry, technology and mathematics. I assist composers in the creation of tools for music and sound, sonify mathematical models, and network machines to play together. I previously have done a lot of work in ambisonics and spatial sound, and created a toolkit for the implementation of such in the ChucK programming language. I maintain interests in Julius O. Smith's research on Waveguides, and technologies which model physical phenomena digitally.

I have previously written about and studied topics such as Multimedia in the 20th century, Sound Studies and Soundscapes, early Computer Music, and Fandom. A few papers of mine can be found below, with a full list here.
